GENERAL PASSENGERS’ SHIPMENT REGULATIONS
1. THE BOOKING AND RESERVATION
1.1. Reservation and sale of AB DFDS Seaways ferry tickets is arranged through travelling agencies, via internet or at AB DFDS Seaways ferry terminals.
1.2. The passenger ticket is a contract between AB DFDS Seaways and the passenger. In accordance with this contract the ship owner undertake to transport the passenger and his personal luggage as defined by the General Shipment Regulations provided that the passenger knows these Regulations. The General Shipment Regulations are presented at travel agencies, internet sites, AB DFDS Seaways ferry terminals.
1.3. The ticket sale commences 6 months before departure.
1.4. Reservation of tickets is not allowed less than 21days before departure. Otherwise it should be paid for without delay.
1.5. Ticket reservation for groups is possible not later than 30 days before the departure. Ticket reservation for groups is not allowed when less than 30 days before the departure. Otherwise it should be paid for without delay.
2. TICKET FOR RE-REGISTRATION
2.1.Passenger has a right to re-register the ticket. Once the ticket is bought via internet, it is re-registered by the passenger himself not later than the day before departure or by the AB DFDS Seaways ferry terminal staff, in this case a re-registration fee is applied. As the ticket is bought at travel agencies or AB DFDS Seaways ferry terminals, the notice should be given not later than the day of the departure. The ticket may be re-registered for any other trip within the period of 1 month. For re-registration of the ticket the re-registration fee is applied. Re-registered tickets are not bought back.
2.2. The ticket is considered invalid, no refund is paid and no claims are accepted in case a notice on the cancellation of the trip is given after the day of departure.
3. PAYMENT AND TRAVEL COSTS
3.1. Agency hands the ticket in after all payment is effected.
3.2. During "Check-In" AB DFDS Seaways is entitled to require additional payment in case the price is calculated incorrectly or the conditions of transportation are changed.
3.3. Medical service is not included into the ticket price.
3.4. The passenger has the right to take luggage (0,5 m3 size) free of charge.
3.5. A passenger can be a driver for one vehicle at a time.
3.6. If the passenger refuses to travel with his/her vehicle, the money is returned according to clause 4.1
3.7. AB DFDS Seaways reserves the right in 2 weeks to change ferry schedule and ticket prices.
4. CANCELLATION OF THE TRIP
4.1.The passenger(individual) should inform about cancellation of the trip in writing. Based on the date of application was presented the following refunds are given in case the passenger or passenger vehicle only cancel the trip:

Request to refund have to be made not late than next day otherwise ticket price is not refunded.
4.2. Cancellation rules for groups:
The tour operator should inform about cancellation of the trip in writing. Based on the date of application was presented the following refunds are given in case the passengers group cancels the trip:

Request to refund have to be made not late than next day otherwise ticket price is not refunded.
4.3. For the individuals the voyage must be paid 21 day prior to departure. If the reservation is made later than 21 day prior to departure, the voyage must be paid at the time of reservation. If a reserved place is not cancelled 21 days before departure, the Agency, which ordered to reserve a place, is to pay 100% of the ticket price.
4.4. The group ticket should be pre-paid not later than 30 days before the departure.
4.5. If the ticket for a reserved place is not pre-paid and the reservation is not cancelled 30 days before the departure, the Agency, which ordered the ticket, is to pay 100% of the ticket price.
4.6. The return of the ticket might be done only at the place of its purchase.
5. RULES OF TRAVELLING
5.1. The check-in of passengers starts 3 hours before the scheduled departure of the ferry and ends 1-hour before the scheduled departure of the ferry, check-in for vehicles starts 3 hours before the scheduled departure of the ferry and ends 1,5 hour before the scheduled departure of the ferry.
5.2. Reservation is stopped 2 hours before the departure of the ferry.
5.3. Passenger arriving after specified check-in times may be unable to board the ship.
5.4. The passenger should have all the documents (passport, visa) required by the country of arrival and the rules of ports visited during the trip when travelling by ferry. AB DFDS Seaways has the right to check out relating documents before accepting the passenger on board.
The passenger bears responsibility for all the consequences related to the incorrectly filled-out documents. Radioactive, corrosive, inflammable and odorous materials, liquids or legal weapons, may be transported only under the agreement and permission of AB DFDS Seaways. It is not allowed to transport, drugs and other things forbidden by laws of country of arrival. In case of violation of the customs and emigration laws AB DFDS Seaways accepts no claims and the money is not returned.
5.5. Once the passenger, arrived by the DFDS Seaways ship is forced to leave the country by the same ship, he pays for the back trip in accordance with the current tariffs.
5.6. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by parents or guardian or an adult having written authority to travel from children’s parent or guardian.
6. RECALLING THE TRIP
6.1. AB DFDS Seaways has the right to recall the trip for the reason of a strike, blockade, violation of public order and safety, quarantine, frozen port and other unforeseen circumstances that make the trip risky or impossible. In this case the passenger has the right to ask for the ticket price refund or to be taken into any other trip offered by AB DFDS Seaways. The refusal of the passenger should be in writing and handed in before the trip. Only in this case the trip money will be returned.
7. REGULATIONS
7.1. The passenger is follow all the rules of the trip, orders of the captain, officers and AB DFDS Seaways or any person authorized by him.
8. LAWS AND JURISDICTION
8.1. The relations of the AB DFDS Seaways and the passengers travelling by the vessels of AB DFDS Seaways are regulated, and the disputes are settled in accordance with the laws of Lithuanian Republic, in the courts of Klaipeda city.
OTHER CONDITIONS
1. AB DFDS Seaways limits liabilities, which include, but are not restricted to, limits on liability for personal injury, death, and luggage fragile, valuable or perishable goods; in accordance with:
- The Athens Convention Relating to the Carriage of Passengers and their Luggage by Sea 1974, as currently in force, including any subsequent protocols thereto, as may be enacted in the competent jurisdiction, and, then
- Any applicable national low, as currently in force, in the competent jurisdiction, which makes provision for limitation of liability.
2. No servant or agent of the AB DFDS Seaways nor any independent contractor from time to time employed by the AB DFDS Seaways, shall in any circumstances whatsoever be under any liability whatsoever to the passenger for any death, sickness, injury, loss, damage, delay or otherwise arising or resulting directly or indirectly from any act, neglect or default on the part of such servant, agent, or independent contractor, while acting in the course of or in connection with his employment and every condition, limitation, defence and immunity of whatsoever nature applicable to the AB DFDS Seaways shall also be available and extended to protect every such servant, agent and independent contractor of the AB DFDS Seaways acting as aforesaid and for all the purposes of all the foregoing provisions of this clause the DFDS Seaways is contracting with the Passenger as agent of and trustee for such servant, agents and contractors who are deemed to be parties to the contract contained in this Ticket. AB DFDS Seaways shall be entitled to be paid by the Passenger or his personal representatives on demand any sum recovered or recoverable by such Passenger or his personal representative from such servant, agent, or independent contractor of the AB DFDS Seaways for any such death, sickness, injury, loss, delay, damage or otherwise.
